This hands-on training session will introduce the user to the fundamentals of microscopy and provide a foundation for more advance techniques. Users will be trained on the Olympus BX51 Upright, which is equipped for both fluorescence and transmitted light imaging. Once they are comfortable with the microscope components, the user will be shown how to properly align the various optical components to ensure high image quality. Finally, the user will capture images using a QImaging CCD camera with Image Pro Plus. Topics covered in this course include:
|
1. Setting up Microscope
2. Transmitted Light Path
3. Objective Lens (special considerations)
4. Kohler Illumination
5. Phase Contrast
6. Fluorescence Light Path
