Advanced In Vivo Imaging Techniques

Pre-requisite: In Vivo Imaging Training

This course is an extension of the basic in vivo imaging training course. It covers more advanced imaging techniques on the following systems:

  • IVIS Spectrum:
    • Acquiring Time Sequences - using the imaging wizard
    • Translumination - this involves illuminating the specimen from below and allows for more sensitive detection and accurate quantifi­cation of deep sources
    • Spectral Un-mixing - this is good for separating signals of interest from autofluorescence or other overlapping signals, allowing for better detection of multiple reporters
    • Bioluminescence tomography (DLIT) or fluorescence tomography (FLIT) - allows for 3D localization and quantification
  • VisEn:
    • 3D fluorescence tomography - for 3D localization and quantification
  • Maestro:
    • Spectral Un-mixing - allows for separation of multiple probes and autofluorescence
