Confocal
| Confocal fluorescence microscopes can generate high-resolution three-dimensional images of thick specimens. Our Zeiss LSM700 is equipped with solid state lasers, providing excitation lines from UV to red (405nm, 488nm, 555nm, 639nm). The instrument has an inverted microscope base, allowing imaging of live cells in coverglass-bottom petri dishes or chambers. It has two highly sensitive PMT detectors as well as spectral detection with a resolution of down to 1nm. Using the 63x/1.2NA water-immersion objective lens, the maximum resolution is about 0.2 microns laterally and about 0.5 microns in depth.
Our Two-Photon system is also a fully loaded confocal microscope. |
