How to get started at the AOMF

Live Specimen Imaging

Pre-requisite: One of the following:
Confocal Training I
Axiovert Training I
Two-Photon Training

The AOMF's inverted microscopes, which include the Axiovert, Confocal, and Two-photon microscopes, provide excellent platforms for live-specimen imaging. In the Live- specimen Imaging course, users learn how to prolong the lives of their cells while observing them with transmission or fluorescence contrasts. Specifically, users will learn how to:

1. Set up the heated stage and objective heater to maintain cells at physiological temperature.
2. Reduce Photobleaching and Phototoxicity.
3. Perform time-series imaging
4. Acquire a time-series at multiple locations simultaneously (Axiovert only).
