How to get started at the AOMF

Live Specimen Imaging Training

Approximate Time: 1 hour
Pre-requisite: One of the following:

Widefield Microscope Training
Confocal/Multiphoton Microscope Training
Spinning Disk Confocal Training

The AOMF's inverted microscopes provide excellent platforms for live-specimen imaging. In this course, users learn how to prolong the lives of their cells while observing them with transmission or fluorescence contrasts. Specifically, they will learn how to:

1. Set up the heated stage and objective heater to maintain cells at physiological temperature.
2. Reduce Photobleaching and Phototoxicity.
3. Perform time-series imaging
4. Acquire a time-series at multiple locations simultaneously (Yokogawa and WaveFX only).
