How to get started at the AOMF

Comprehensive Course on Fluorescence Microscopy
Laser Scanning Cytometry Training

Approximate Time: 4 hours
Pre-requisite: None

Laser Scanning Cytometry is used for high content automated imaging and analysis of live and fixed cells and tissues. This course will guide the user throught basic setup and analysis procedures on our iCys system. A follow-up training might be required for some more advanced analysis steps. The basic course will include:

1. An introduction to the equipment and software
2. Startup and Microscope Setup
3. Verifying instrument settings
4. Selecting a scan area and choosing image acquisition settings
5. Setting up analysis parameters
6. Creating analysis regions and gating windows
7. Obtaining statistics
8. Recording data, opening data files and saving workspaces
9. System shutdown
